There are two ways to spawn creatures in Ark. You can use the:

- GFI code or
- Blueprint path

## GFI code method for spawning (random level)

The GFI code method will spawn a creature of a random level. If you want to spawn a creature with a specified level, keep reading on how to do this with the blueprint path method.

The GFI code command syntax looks like this:


adminCheat Summon Entity ID


The Entity ID is also known as the creature ID or the Ark ID.

## Blueprint path method for spawning (specific level)

If you want to spawn a creature with a specific level, use the blueprint path method of spawning.

The blueprint path command syntax looks like this:


admincheat SpawnDino Blueprint path Spawn distance Spawn Y offset Z offset Dino level


This method lets you specify the level of the creature you want to spawn and how far away you want the creature to be spawned. For example, to spawn a level 110 Allosaurus about two foundations away, you would use the command: admincheat SpawnDino "Blueprint'/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Allosaurus/Allo_Character_BP.Allo_Character_BP'" 500 0 0 110.

Generally, you can set the spawn distance to 500, and the y and z offset to 0. 

If the spawn command using the entity ID does not work, try spawning using the blueprint path.

## How to open the console

To open the command console, press Tab on PC. On Xbox, press LB RB X Y at the same time. On PlayStation, press L1 R1 Square Triangle at the same time.

Some cheats require you to authenticate yourself with the [enablecheats command](/commands/enable-cheats/).

Commands are not case sensitive.

How to Spawn a Creature in Ark

There are three ways to spawn items in Ark. You can use the:

- GFI code
- Blueprint path, or
- Item ID

Some items may only have some of the above codes. If one method of spawning does not work, try using another.

## GFI code method for spawning

The GFI code command syntax looks like this:


adminCheat GFI GFI code Quantity Quality Blueprint


Quantity is a number between 1 and the stack size that indicates how many of the item you want to spawn. Quality is a number between 0 and 100, indicating the quality of the item to be spawned. Finally, Blueprint can be 1, if you want to spawn the blueprint, or 0, if you want to spawn the item.

For example, admincheat GFI Weapon Gun 1 1 0 will spawn a Simple Pistol.

## Blueprint path method for spawning

The blueprint path command syntax looks like this:


adminCheat GiveItem Blueprint path Quantity Quality Blueprint


For example, admincheat GiveItem "Blueprint'/Game/PrimalEarth/CoreBlueprints/Weapons/PrimalItem_WeaponGun.PrimalItem_WeaponGun'" 1 1 0 will also spawn a Simple Pistol.

## Item ID method for spawning

The item ID command syntax looks like this:


adminCheat GiveItemNum Item ID Quantity Quality Blueprint


For example, GiveItemNum 1 1 1 0 will spawn a Simple Pistol.

## Multiplayer mode

If you are on a multiplayer server, some commands need to be prefixed with admincheat or cheat. If you are in single-player mode, you do not need cheat or admincheat before the command.
